Welcome to Serenity
Hi, I’m Lauri Heiskanen, also known as RA-UL and Pax Natura, a music producer, field recordist, and visual artist from Finland, dedicated to capturing the essence of nature through audio and visuals.
My work is rooted in stillness, silence, and the quiet beauty that surrounds us in ways we often forget to notice. I listen closely to forests, ocean, birdsong, rain and wind, and translate those moments into soundscapes and imagery that invite presence and peace. I aim to carry the genuine calm of nature to places that have drifted far from it such as fast-paced urban life, offering small moments of healing and restoration where they are needed the most.
My works have been featured across diverse cultural events, theatre and dance performances, game development, and in medical and wellness environments. I draw inspiration from the quiet harmony that arises in collaboration and from the presence of nature that guides these shared creations.

Organic Ambient & New Age
RA-UL is my musical project through which I explore the quiet, contemplative side of sound. Inspired by the serenity of the Nordic wilderness, I blend analog synthesizers, acoustic instruments, and my own field recordings into ambient compositions where I’m focusing on the healing and calming side of music and nature sounds.
For me, RA-UL is a way to translate silence, light, and emotion into music. Each piece is born from stillness, moments spent by the sea, under the stars, or within the calm of a forest, and shaped into soundscapes that invite reflection and inner peace.

Serene Nature Soundscapes
Pax Natura is my personal field recording project, born from a wish to capture the voice of the northern wilderness as it truly is – untouched, honest, and full of quiet presence. I record in forests, wetlands, and along distant shores, seeking places where the human world fades away and nature’s rhythm can be heard clearly.
Each soundscape is a moment from the heart of nature. Through these recordings, I hope to offer small windows into the peace that nature gives, inviting listeners to pause, breathe, and reconnect with their inner stillness.

NATURE-INSPIRED Art
Since I was a kid, I’ve dreamed of creating my own art shop – a place where the beauty I see and feel in nature could be shared with others. Today, that dream lives on through my online gallery, where I offer fine art prints made from my own photographs and artworks.
