Through the Looking Glass

from Musica Universalis

Logic Moon, Piscean Daydreams

Through the Looking Glass opens with a soft synth drone drifting through a wind-like soundscape, with distant details resembling birdsong appearing gently in the background. The atmosphere is immediately warm and spacious, allowing the body to settle while the mind begins to wander.

A peaceful melody moves slowly between pads and a grounding bass drone, while subtle melody blends naturally into the composition. Everything feels beautifully balanced, like a gentle summer morning with nowhere to be and no reason to hurry.

The piece comes from Musica Universalis, a collaboration between Piscean Daydreams and Logic Moon. Tobias Lorsbach of Logic Moon describes the album as inspired by the ancient idea of the “music of the spheres”: an inaudible harmony created by the movements of celestial bodies. Memories of looking into the night sky and feeling both small and connected to something vast became an important part of its inspiration.

That contrast between the cosmic and intimate can be heard throughout the music. Expansive drones suggest something immense, while field recordings and delicate textures keep the experience close and human. For Tobias, this feeling of connection is strongest in quiet early mornings, when the world becomes still enough to sense something larger beneath everyday life.

Through the Looking Glass captures that feeling beautifully: peaceful, contemplative and wonderfully spacious, like a quiet moment in nature slowly opening toward infinity.
